Overview

The CN-0545 is a reference design from Analog Devices featuring a completely integrated thermistor measurement system with 0.1°C accuracy. It utilizes the AD7124-4 or AD7124-8 low-noise, 24-bit sigma-delta ADCs to achieve high resolution and 50 Hz/60 Hz noise rejection. The design employs a ratiometric measurement configuration with a high-precision sense resistor and a constant excitation voltage to eliminate errors from the excitation source. The circuit supports NTC thermistors and includes linearization techniques such as the Steinhart-Hart equation. With multiple power modes, including a low-power mode consuming 255 µA, the system is suitable for battery-operated and loop-powered applications.
