Overview
The DC2069A is a demonstration circuit for the LT8490, a high-performance buck-boost converter designed for battery charging with Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT). It supports an input voltage range of 17V to 54V and is configured to charge 12V sealed lead-acid (SLA) batteries with currents up to 16.6A. The circuit can operate from solar panels with 36 to 72 cells (up to 200W) or standard DC voltage sources. Key features include an LTC4359 ideal diode controller for back-feed protection, automatic true power point tracking even in partial shade, temperature-compensated charging via an external NTC sensor, and status LEDs for charge stage and fault reporting.
