Electromechanical multiplying punch equipment reads two factors from a punched card and punches their product into a blank field on the same card. The machine supports factors up to eight decimal digits long and can also perform addition and subtraction. It has no printing capacity and is used with tabulators or accounting machines as offline unit-record equipment. The product was introduced in 1931 as part of IBM's early 600-series calculating-machine family.
