AR9285 is a highly integrated single-chip PCI Express (PCIe) CMOS solution for WLAN, specifically targeting the value computing market. It supports data rates up to 150 Mbps, leveraging 802.11n 1-stream specification and Atheros Align technology. The device integrates a MAC, baseband processor, and a 2.4 GHz radio. It is backward-compatible with 802.11g and forward-compatible with multi-stream 802.11n, supporting all mandatory IEEE 802.11n features. The AR9285 is a 4th generation solution, highly compact with a small footprint (8x8 mm, 68-pin LPCC), and includes an integrated power amplifier and low noise amplifier for cost-effectiveness. It supports low power sleep modes and is compliant with PCI Express Based Specification 1.1. It also complies with IEEE 802.11b/d/e/g/i standards.
