Transmit variable gain amplifier interfaces RF DACs, transceivers, and SoCs to power amplifiers across variant-dependent frequency ranges from 500 MHz to 5200 MHz. The device operates from a single 5 V supply and integrates a differential RF input, single-ended 50 Ω RF output, RF balun, high-linearity amplifiers, and a glitch-free digital step attenuator. It provides a 31.5 dB attenuation range with 0.5 dB steps and is programmable through a 3-wire or 4-wire SPI interface. The device is specified for a -40°C to +105°C exposed-pad operating temperature range in a 32-lead 5 mm × 5 mm LFCSP-RT package.
