Synchronous step-up LED driver uses fixed-frequency peak current control to regulate a string of LEDs. It operates from a 2.8 V to 36 V input range and supports up to 34 V LED string voltage with 2.3 A, 40 V internal switches. The device provides ±2.5% LED current regulation, ±2% output voltage regulation, and 25,000:1 PWM dimming at 100 Hz. Switching frequency is programmable from 200 kHz to 2 MHz and can be synchronized externally. Protection features include open and short LED fault indication and thermal shutdown in a thermally enhanced 28-lead 4 mm × 5 mm QFN package.
