Synchronous step-up LED driver uses a monolithic fixed-frequency peak-current-control DC/DC converter for LED strings. It operates from a 2.8 V to 36 V input range and supports boost, buck-mode, and buck-boost operation with up to 34 V LED string voltage. LED current regulation and output voltage regulation are specified at ±2%, with analog or duty-cycle LED current control. PWM dimming reaches 25,000:1 at 100 Hz, and the switching frequency is programmable from 200 kHz to 2 MHz with synchronization and spread-spectrum modulation. The device is supplied in a thermally enhanced 28-lead 4 mm by 5 mm plastic QFN package for -40 °C to 125 °C operation.
