Overview

The DC1368A demonstration circuit features the LT3080-1 adjustable LDO linear regulator in a parallel configuration. By integrating four LT3080-1 devices with internal ballast resistors, the design enables direct paralleling without external sensor resistors to deliver up to 4.4A of output current. The output voltage is programmable via a single resistor and can be adjusted down to zero. The board supports dual-supply operation to minimize power dissipation, offering a low 0.5V dropout voltage at full load on the Vin pin. Key features include current limiting, thermal limiting, and a 0.01uF bypass capacitor for low-noise performance.

Use Cases

  • High current linear regulator
  • Post regulator for switching power supplies
  • Variable voltage supply
  • Low output voltage power supply
