Overview

This document provides design details and test procedures for the DC205 demonstration board, which utilizes the LTC1504 synchronous buck switching converter. The board includes three distinct circuit versions: a high-performance version (2.85V output) optimized for SCSI-II active termination with features like adjustable current limit and clock synchronization; a low-profile version (3.3V output) under 2mm in height using a planar inductor; and a low-cost version (3.3V output) requiring only four external components. The guide outlines equipment setup, measurement techniques for efficiency, and functional testing for shutdown and external clock synchronization up to 500kHz.

Use Cases

  • SCSI-II active termination
  • Low-profile power supply applications
  • Cost-sensitive DC/DC conversion
  • 5V to 3.3V step-down regulation
  • 5V to 2.85V step-down regulation
