Overview

This document provides a comprehensive guide for the iMEMS ADXL345 inertial sensor evaluation system (EVAL-ADXL345Z-M). The system consists of the Inertial Sensor Evaluation Board (ISEB) as the main board and a satellite board (EVAL-ADXL345Z-S) for the ADXL345 accelerometer. The ISEB is a universal main board based on the ADuC7026 microcontroller that connects to a PC via USB for power and communication. The guide covers software and hardware configuration, including driver installation and firmware updates. It details the use of a PC-based graphical user interface (GUI) to perform bench characterization, real-time measurements, power consumption analysis, and temperature testing. The system's design allows for the separation of the sensor from the controller, enabling accurate environmental testing in temperature or humidity chambers without affecting the control electronics.

Use Cases

  • Bench characterization of inertial sensors
  • Environmental testing of accelerometers in temperature chambers
  • Sensor performance and characterization measurements
  • Development and evaluation of ADXL345 applications
