Overview

This hardware user manual provides a functional description and installation instructions for the M68360QUADS Application Development System. The board is centered around the MC68360 QUICC (Quad Integrated Communications Controller) running at 25 MHz. It includes a slave MC68360 to handle system functions like DRAM control and UART interfaces. On-board memory consists of 1MB DRAM, 128KB boot EPROM, 512KB Flash, and a serial EEPROM. Connectivity features include Ethernet (AUI and twisted-pair) powered by the MC68160 transceiver, AppleTalk, RS-232, and an Application Development Interface (ADI) port. The system supports hardware debugging through Background Debug Mode (BDM) and logic analyzer connectors compatible with HP equipment.

Use Cases

  • Hardware and software development for MC68360 QUICC applications
  • Ethernet communication system prototyping and testing
  • AppleTalk and LocalTalk interface integration
  • Embedded system debugging using BDM and logic analyzers
