Overview

The ESP32-GATEWAY is an open-source hardware development board designed by Olimex, based on the Espressif ESP32-WROOM-32E or ESP32-WROOM-32UE modules. It provides wireless connectivity via WiFi and BLE, complemented by a wired 100Mb Ethernet interface using the Microchip LAN8710A driver. The board features a USB Type-C connector for power and programming via a CH340 serial converter, a MicroSD card slot operating in 1-bit eMMC mode, and a 20-pin GPIO header for expansion. Power management is handled by a Texas Instruments TPS62A02ADRLR regulator capable of 2000mA output. The design is available in commercial (0-70°C) and industrial (-40 to +85°C) grades and is compatible with ESP-IDF, Arduino IDE, and PlatformIO environments.

Use Cases

  • Industrial IoT Gateway
  • WiFi-to-Ethernet Bridge
