Overview

The DC1401A demonstration circuit is a evaluation platform for the LT3085, a 500mA adjustable linear regulator. Designed as a precision current source and voltage follower, the LT3085 allows the output voltage to be programmed between 0V and 25V via a single resistor (limited to 25V on this board by input capacitor ratings). The board features jumper-selectable outputs for 1.2V, 1.8V, 2.5V, 3.3V, and 5.0V, as well as a user-defined setting. It supports both single and dual supply configurations to minimize power dissipation and achieve low dropout operation. Internal protection includes current and thermal limiting.

Use Cases

  • High current linear regulator
  • Post regulator for switching power supplies
  • Variable voltage supply
  • Low output voltage power supply
  • Precision current source
