Overview

Demonstration Circuit 627 (DC627A) evaluates the LT3461 and LT3461A boost converters in a fixed 12.0V output configuration. The circuit operates from an input voltage range of 3V to 6V, delivering a maximum output current of 70mA from a 5.0V input and 40mA from a 3.3V input. The design leverages the internal Schottky diode and high switching frequencies—1.3MHz for the LT3461 (DC627A-A) and 3.0MHz for the LT3461A (DC627A-B)—to reduce overall component size and footprint. Features include a soft-start option via the SHDN pin and an on-board RC filter, making it suitable for space-constrained applications.

Use Cases

  • Space-sensitive electronics
  • Local 12V rail generation
  • Battery-powered handheld equipment
  • Small SMT footprint power supplies
