Overview

This design document provides a guide for the Touch Sensing Software Evaluation Board (TSSEVB), which incorporates the MCS08LG32 microcontroller. The document details four pre-programmed demonstration applications—Shadow Demo, Alarm Clock Demo, Microwave Demo, and Washing Machine Demo—to showcase the versatility of the NXP Touch Sensing Software (TSS) suite. It explains how to navigate between demos using physical electrodes, the functionality of sliders and rotary controls, and how to interface the board with the Electrode Graphing Tool (EGT) via a JM60 communication board for electrode performance visualization.

Use Cases

  • Evaluation of NXP Touch Sensing Software (TSS) library
  • Capacitive touch interface design for home appliances
  • Prototyping touch-based controls including sliders and rotary dials
  • Sensor performance debugging using the Electrode Graphing Tool
