The SPCM-AQ4C is a 4-channel photon counting card designed to detect single photons of light within the 400 nm to 1060 nm wavelength range. Each of the four independent channels utilizes a unique silicon avalanche photodiode (SLiK) with a circular active area of 180 µm diameter. To ensure stable performance across varying ambient temperatures, each photodiode is thermoelectrically cooled and temperature-controlled. The module features an active quenching circuit that allows for continuous count rates of 1.5 million counts per second (Mc/s) and peak burst rates exceeding 4 Mc/s. It provides a standard TTL output pulse for each detected photon and includes gated input capabilities. Optical coupling is achieved via pre-aligned FC fiber connectors on each detector.
