The USB-to-USB Null Modem Cable (NMC) is a modern replacement for traditional serial null modem cables. It allows for file transfers between two PCs via their USB ports without the need for a network. The cable contains internal electronic circuit boards encapsulated into the USB connectors at both ends, based on the FTDI FT232RQ USB to Serial UART IC. It supports data transfer rates up to 3 Mbaud at TTL levels and is USB 2.0 full-speed compatible.
