The 4N25 is a single optocoupler that combines an infrared emitting diode with an NPN silicon phototransistor output in a standard 6-pin dual in-line plastic package. It provides 5000 VRMS isolation, operates from -55°C to 100°C, and is specified for a maximum forward input current of 60 mA. The output stage is rated for 50 mA collector current with 70 V collector-emitter breakdown voltage. At IF = 10 mA and VCE = 5 V, the 4N25 current transfer ratio is specified from 40% to 80%, with a 150 kHz cutoff frequency and typical 2 µs rise and fall times. The device is RoHS compliant and is listed with UL approval under model GG.
