The MLX90378 is a third-generation monolithic magnetic position processor IC designed for 3D motion applications such as joysticks. Utilizing Triaxis Hall technology with an integrated magnetic concentrator (IMC), it senses three spatial components of an applied magnetic field (Bx, By, and Bz). It supports both ball-socket and gimbal configurations and features a dual-die construction for redundancy. The device is qualified as an ISO26262 ASIL-C Safety Element out-of-Context (SEooC) and provides SENT and PWM output modes.
