The RV-8523-C3 is a CMOS real-time clock/calendar module optimized for low power consumption. It features an integrated 32.768 kHz tuning fork crystal, an I2C-bus interface with speeds up to 1 MHz, and a backup battery switch-over circuit that automatically manages power failure. The device includes a user-programmable offset register for fine-tuning, alarm and timer functions, and a watchdog timer.
