This optocoupler contains an infrared LED optically coupled to an NPN phototransistor with a base connection. It is housed in a 6-pin PDIP package for through-hole mounting and is intended for isolated DC signal transfer. Generic 4N35 family data lists approximately 5.3 kVrms isolation voltage, a 30 V output transistor rating, and 150 mW transistor power dissipation. The output stage provides both collector-emitter and base access for external biasing and switching circuits.
