The EX-L221 is an ultra-compact, self-contained laser sensor from the EX-L200 series, designed for high-precision detection of minute objects. It features a built-in amplifier and uses a Class 1 red semiconductor laser (655nm) as its light source, ensuring safety while providing a fine beam spot of approximately 1mm at a 300mm distance. This spot-reflective sensor can detect objects as small as 0.01mm gold wire and offers a sensing range of 45 to 300mm. It is housed in a rugged IP67-rated polybutylene terephthalate enclosure, making it suitable for demanding industrial automation environments. The sensor provides an NPN open-collector output and includes a sensitivity adjuster and integrated interference prevention for mounting multiple units close together.
