Single-channel precision current-output DAC provides 16-bit resolution for industrial process-control transmitters and PLC analog outputs. The programmable output supports 4 mA to 20 mA, 0 mA to 20 mA, and 0 mA to 24 mA ranges with typical ±0.01% FSR total unadjusted error. The device operates from a 10.8 V to 60 V analog supply depending on package option and provides output loop compliance from 0 V to AVDD minus 2.5 V. SPI, MICROWIRE, QSPI, and DSP-compatible serial interfaces, fault detection, current monitoring, power-on reset, asynchronous clear, and a 5 V on-chip reference are integrated.
