Loop-powered digital-to-analog converter provides a 16-bit serial-input current-output solution for 4 mA to 20 mA smart transmitter designs. Pin-selectable NAMUR-compliant ranges support 4 mA to 20 mA, 3.8 mA to 21 mA, and 3.2 mA to 24 mA operation with programmable alarm currents. The device includes a SPI-compatible 3-wire interface up to 30 MHz, integrated 1.22 V and 2.5 V references, and a selectable 1.8 V to 12 V regulated output. It operates from a 5.5 V to 52 V loop voltage range over −40°C to +105°C and is offered in 28-lead TSSOP and 32-lead LFCSP packages.
