True power-on multiturn magnetic sensor records rotations of an external magnetic system even while unpowered. The sensor counts up to 46 turns and reports absolute position through an SPI interface after power-up. It provides greater than 16,000 degrees of digital output, ±0.25 degree angle accuracy, and a 100 kSPS measurement update rate. The device operates from a 3.3 V IC supply, supports 1.7 V to 5 V SPI interface levels, and is specified across a −40°C to +150°C junction temperature range.
