Nonsynchronous step-down switching regulator provides up to 1.2 A load current from a 3.0 V to 20 V input range. The regulator uses current-mode control with an integrated high-side MOSFET and operates at a fixed 700 kHz switching frequency. Output voltage can be set from 0.8 V to 0.85 times the input voltage with ±2% output accuracy over temperature. Protection features include undervoltage lockout, overcurrent protection, short-circuit protection, thermal shutdown, internal compensation, and soft start. The device is supplied in a 6-lead TSOT package and is rated for a −40°C to +125°C junction temperature range.
