Micropower isolated flyback converter regulates isolated outputs by sampling the primary-side flyback waveform, eliminating the need for an opto-isolator or third transformer winding. The device operates from a 2.7 V to 42 V input range and integrates a 65 V, 1.2 A DMOS power switch. It can deliver up to 6 W of isolated output power with boundary-mode operation at heavy load and low-ripple Burst Mode operation at light load. Internal compensation, soft-start, EN/UVLO control, and short-circuit protection are integrated in a 5-lead TSOT-23 package.
