A121 Distance Detector User Guide

User guide for the Acconeer A121 Distance Detector, covering radar-based distance estimation algorithms, configuration, calibration procedures, and C API integration.

View design document

Overview

This user guide describes the functionality and configuration of the Acconeer A121 Distance Detector, an algorithm built on the Sparse IQ service for detecting objects and estimating distance. It details core concepts such as distance filtering using a Butterworth filter, the use of subsweeps to balance SNR and power consumption, and various thresholding methods including Fixed, Recorded, and Constant False Alarm Rate (CFAR). The document explains peak sorting strategies (Closest, Strongest), detector calibration steps including noise estimation, offset compensation, and close range leakage subtraction, and provides guidance on C API implementation and power consumption optimization for the A121 radar sensor and XM125 module.
