Overview

This document provides technical documentation for the Acconeer A121 Presence Detector algorithm. It explains how to detect motion using two primary methods: intra-frame detection for fast movements and inter-frame detection for slow movements, such as breathing. The guide details the algorithm's use of Sparse IQ data, phase boost for increased sensitivity, and normalization against the noise floor. It includes instructions for tuning sensor parameters like range, profiles, HWAAS, and time constants to balance sensitivity and power consumption. Additionally, the document covers the C API configuration for integration with the Acconeer SDK and XM125 hardware.

Use Cases

  • Human presence and occupancy sensing
  • Smart home and lighting automation
  • Security and movement monitoring
  • Vital signs monitoring for breathing detection
  • Power-optimized IoT motion sensors
