Overview

The DC829A demonstration circuit features the LTC3776EUF controller, providing a high-efficiency 2-phase dual synchronous step-down solution specifically for DDR/QDR memory termination. It operates from an input range of 2.75V to 8V and delivers two outputs: 2.5V at up to 5A and 1.25V with ±5A symmetrical source/sink capability. The LTC3776 uses MOSFET VDS sensing to eliminate the need for sense resistors, and out-of-phase operation to reduce input ripple current. The board supports adjustable switching frequencies from 300kHz to 750kHz, external synchronization, and an optional spread spectrum mode for reduced EMI.
