Overview

The EVAL_AUDAMP24 is a reference design for a two-channel Class D audio power amplifier utilizing Infineon CoolGaN gallium nitride (GaN) e-mode HEMTs and the IRS20957S controller IC. It delivers 225 W per channel into 4 ohms (at ±43 V) or 250 W per channel into 8 ohms (at ±63 V). The board features a self-oscillating PWM modulator and includes comprehensive protection systems for over-current, over-voltage, under-voltage, and over-temperature. The design demonstrates high-efficiency operation (up to 96% for the Class D stage) and a high signal-to-noise ratio of 118 dB for Hi-Fi audio applications.

Use Cases

  • Hi-Fi audio systems
  • AV receivers
  • Home theater systems
