Frequency timing generator provides four differential output pairs for CPU, QPI, FBD, PCIe Gen 2 and SATA clocking. The device synthesizes common output frequencies from a 14.31818 MHz or 25 MHz crystal, or from an external reference clock. Differential outputs use 0.7 V current-mode signaling with less than 50 ps cycle-to-cycle jitter and less than 35 ps output-to-output skew. Frequency selection is supported through strap pins or SMBus control, and spread-spectrum modes support downspread and centerspread operation.
