This ballast controller is designed for UV-C disinfection lamps and integrates the functions required for preheat, ignition, run mode, and protection. It uses a digital or mixed-signal lamp inverter control architecture with integrated critical conduction mode power factor correction and an integrated high-voltage level-shift half-bridge drive. The device supports up to two lamps in series, operates from a 0.3 V to 18 V VCC range, and is specified for a 300 mA to 500 mA output current range. It is housed in a PG-DSO-16 package and uses Infineon's Coreless Transformer Technology for high-voltage isolation.
