This controller is part of the ICL88xx family of single-stage flyback controllers for constant-voltage outputs. It supports universal 90 VAC to 300 VAC input at 45 Hz to 66 Hz and can also operate from a DC input. The device operates in quasi-resonant mode with continuous-conduction-mode prevention and valley-switching discontinuous-conduction-mode behavior at mid to light load, while providing high power factor and low total harmonic distortion. ICL8810 adds burst-mode operation for very light loads and low standby power, and it integrates protections including overtemperature, output overvoltage, primary-side overcurrent, brownin, brownout, VCC overvoltage, open-loop, and input overvoltage protection.
