The ESP8266 WiFi Module is a self-contained SOC with an integrated TCP/IP protocol stack that provides microcontrollers access to a WiFi network. It is capable of hosting an application or offloading all WiFi networking functions from another application processor. The module comes pre-programmed with an AT command set firmware for easy communication over serial. It includes an integrated TR switch, balun, LNA, power amplifier, and matching network. The device features 4MB of flash memory and supports 802.11 b/g/n protocols at 2.4GHz. Note that the module operates at 3.3V logic and is not 5V tolerant.
