The TLC6A598 is a monolithic, high-voltage, high-current power 8-bit shift register designed for use in systems requiring relatively high load power such as LEDs, relays, and solenoids. It contains an 8-bit serial-in, parallel-out shift register that feeds an 8-bit D-type storage register. Each of the eight open-drain DMOS transistor outputs features independent chopping current-limiting circuitry and a built-in voltage clamp for inductive transient protection. It includes enhanced safety features such as cyclic redundancy check (CRC) for communication verification and load open/short diagnostic mechanisms.
