Universal input analog front end provides a single-channel, software-configurable interface for industrial process control sensors. The high voltage input supports current, voltage, thermocouple, and RTD signal types, including ±20 mA, ±4 mA to ±20 mA, and ±10 V ranges. The device integrates a 24-bit sigma-delta ADC, programmable gain amplifier, RTD excitation currents, field power support, and diagnostics for overvoltage, undervoltage, open wire, overcurrent, and overtemperature conditions. It operates from ±12 V to ±20 V supplies with a 5 V analog supply and supports output data rates from 5 SPS to 125 kSPS over a −40°C to +105°C temperature range.
