The inverting synchronous step-down regulator operates from a 3.4 V to 60 V input range and regulates outputs from 0 V to -28 V. It delivers up to 4 A of inductor current with integrated 110 mΩ top-side and 50 mΩ bottom-side N-channel MOSFETs. The switching frequency is resistor programmable from 300 kHz to 3 MHz and can synchronize over a ±50% range. Burst Mode and forced continuous operation support light-load efficiency or low output ripple, while peak current-mode control provides fast transient response and cycle-by-cycle current limiting. The device supports programmable soft-start, overtemperature protection, and board-ground-referenced RUN, PGOOD, and MODE/SYNC pins.
