Overview

This user guide provides instructions for evaluating the HMC1190A, a high linearity, multiband, dual-channel downconverter with an integrated phase-locked loop (PLL) and voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO). The device operates over a frequency range of 0.7 GHz to 3.8 GHz and is housed in a 6 mm x 6 mm SMT QFN package. The evaluation kit includes the evaluation board and a USB interface board for PC connectivity. Key features of the board include edge-mounted SMA connectors, on-board LDOs for clean power management, jumper-accessible power pins, and support for external VCO and reference inputs. The document details hardware configuration, power supply requirements, pin function descriptions, and the installation of the HMC Ultra Wideband Evaluation Software.

Use Cases

  • RF receiver performance evaluation
  • Dual-channel downconversion testing
  • Integrated PLL and VCO frequency synthesis verification
