SparkFun IM19 IMU Breakout Schematic
Schematic for the SparkFun IM19 IMU Breakout featuring the Aceinna IM19 IMU, CH342F USB-to-UART bridge, and RT9080-3.3 voltage regulator.
Overview
This schematic document details the hardware design of the SparkFun IM19 IMU Breakout. The board is centered around the Aceinna IM19 inertial measurement unit (IMU) and includes a WCH CH342F USB-to-UART bridge for communication via a USB-C receptacle. Power management is handled by a Richtek RT9080-3.3 low-dropout regulator, converting input voltages up to 5.5V to a stable 3.3V supply. The design incorporates a Nexperia 74HC4066BQ quad bilateral switch for signal routing and extensive circuit protection using Diodes Incorporated DT1042-04SO ESD protectors and Toshiba DF5A5.6LFU TVS diodes. Breakout pins provide access to multiple UART interfaces, 1PPS timing signals, and GPIO.
Use Cases
- Inertial navigation and orientation sensing
- Robotics and autonomous vehicle stabilization
- High-precision timing applications using 1PPS signal
- USB-based sensor data logging and evaluation
- Prototyping with multiple UART serial interfaces
