Low-power single-card reader IC integrates an 80C51-compatible controller with 16 kB ROM, 256 bytes of RAM, and 512 bytes of XRAM. The device supports ISO 7816 smart-card communication through a dedicated UART with T=0 and T=1 protocol support. It generates 5 V, 3 V, and 1.8 V card supplies with controlled rise and fall times and includes a DC-to-DC converter for 2.7 V to 6 V operation. Card clock generation supports up to 20 MHz, and card contacts include current limiting and enhanced ESD protection. The operating ambient temperature range is -40 °C to 90 °C.
