Overview
This design document provides the hardware architecture for the Olimex ESP32-EVB Rev C, an open-source evaluation platform centered on the Espressif ESP-WROOM-32 module. The board integrates comprehensive connectivity options, including 10/100 Mbps Ethernet via the Microchip LAN8710A PHY and a CAN bus interface using the MCP2551 transceiver. Power management is handled by a SY8009AAAC step-down converter and an MCP73833 LiPo battery charger with status LEDs. The board also features two RAS-0515 relays for switching loads, a CH340T USB-to-UART bridge for programming, a microSD card slot, and infrared transmit/receive capabilities using an RPM7236-H8 sensor and IR333-A LED. Expansion is supported through a UEXT connector and a 40-pin GPIO header.
