Overview

The CN-0600 reference design describes a high-precision weigh scale system centered on the AD4190-4, a 24-bit Sigma-Delta ADC with an integrated programmable gain amplifier (PGA). The circuit is designed to interface with 4-wire or 6-wire load cells, specifically demonstrated with a 350-ohm load cell at 2mV/V sensitivity. It utilizes a ratiometric configuration to minimize measurement errors from excitation voltage fluctuations. The power management section uses an LTC3129-1 synchronous buck-boost converter and LT1962 low-noise LDO regulators to provide stable 5V and 3.3V rails. The system achieves 17-bit peak-to-peak resolution at 3.87SPS and features built-in diagnostics, including CRC on the SPI interface and signal chain health checks.
