Overview

The MAXREFDES1012 design document describes an isolated no-opto flyback DC-DC converter utilizing the MAX17690 peak current-mode controller and the MAX17606 synchronous rectifier driver. This design provides a 5.3V output at up to 2A (10.6W) from an input voltage range of 8V to 20V. The system eliminates the need for an optocoupler or auxiliary transformer winding by sensing the reflected primary-side voltage to regulate the output. It achieves a peak efficiency of 91.4% and includes features such as programmable switching frequency, input UVLO, overvoltage protection, soft-start, and hiccup mode short-circuit protection.

Use Cases

  • Industrial PLC Power Supplies
