Overview

The EVAL-ADRD2121-EBZ is an evaluation platform designed for high-speed asynchronous sampling of Analog Devices iSensor IMU data, specifically supporting the ADIS16470 and ADIS16500 models. The system functions as a buffer board, providing output data through a USB virtual serial port or a user SPI port for transparent integration into existing systems. Key features include a maximum buffer entry size of 64 bytes, a minimum of 512 frames, and baud rates reaching 1,000,000 bps. The hardware is based on the STM32F722RET6 microcontroller and includes configuration options for buffer overflow settings, data-ready trigger polarity, and SPI clock frequency. Users can interface with the board via a Command Line Interface (CLI) or a Python library, supporting both Linux and Windows environments.

Use Cases

  • High-speed inertial measurement unit (IMU) data capture
  • Evaluation of ADIS16470 and ADIS16500 IMUs
  • Integrating IMU data into Linux or Windows applications
  • Prototyping IMU-based motion sensing systems
  • Buffering IMU data to reduce host processor overhead
