Precision Switchable Vout Regulator for OTP Applications
Reference design for a switchable 2.5V/7.0V voltage regulator for One Time Programming (OTP) using the ADP1610 boost regulator, ADP1710 LDO, and ADR550 precision reference.
Overview
This reference design provides a precision switchable output voltage regulator designed specifically for One Time Programming (OTP) applications. The circuit operates from an input voltage range of 3.2V to 5.25V and delivers a switchable output: 2.5V during normal operation (via the ADP1710 LDO) and 7.0V ±1% for programming (via the ADP1610 boost regulator). To ensure high set point accuracy, an ADR550 precision shunt reference is utilized in the boost regulator's feedback path. The design features a DC-blocking charge pump to prevent standard boost converter pass-through, allowing the LDO to control the output when the boost regulator is inactive. It supports output currents up to 50 mA and includes a complete bill of materials and transition waveforms.
