Overview
The TMCM-3212 is a high-performance three-axis controller and driver module designed for 2-phase bipolar stepper motors. It supports motor currents up to 3A RMS per axis and operates within a voltage range of 17V to 53V DC. The module features integrated motion control with real-time profile calculation and utilizes Trinamic's proprietary technologies including StealthChop for silent operation, StallGuard2 for sensorless stall detection, CoolStep for power efficiency, and DcStep for load-dependent speed control. Communication interfaces include CAN, RS485, and USB. The hardware provides differential encoder inputs and HOME/STOP switch inputs for each axis, along with four general-purpose analog/digital inputs and four digital outputs. A built-in brake chopper unit supports external resistors for supply voltage limitation during energy regeneration.
