Overview

The MAX20830 evaluation kit (EV kit) is a reference design platform for the MAX20830 and MAX20830T single-output, fully integrated step-down DC-DC switching regulators. The kit operates from a 2.7V to 16V input range and provides a programmable 0.4V to 5.8V output at currents up to 30A. It features a PMBus interface for telemetry and configuration, including adjustable switching frequency, OCP thresholds, and DCM/DEM modes. The board includes an internal 1.8V LDO and an optional LDOIN pin for external bias (2.5V to 5.5V) to optimize efficiency. The implementation uses a high-power density multilayer PCB with test points for efficiency measurements, Bode plot injection, and connection to the MINILOAD fast transient load generator.
