Overview
The EVAL-LT7171-AZ is a demonstration platform for the LT7171, a 16V PolyPhase Silent Switcher step-down regulator featuring digital power system management. This evaluation board uses two LT7171 ICs in a dual-phase configuration to supply up to 40A of continuous load current at a default output voltage of 1.0V. The Silent Switcher architecture minimizes EMI and reduces layout sensitivity, while the PMBus/I2C interface provides telemetry for voltage, current, temperature, and fault status. Users can reconfigure the device and program its NVM using the LTpowerPlay GUI software. The circuit operates with a 1MHz switching frequency and utilizes controlled on-time valley current-mode control for high transient response and small solution size.
