Overview

The EVAL-LTC7892-BZ evaluation circuit demonstrates the LTC7892, a high-frequency synchronous step-up controller optimized for 100V Gallium Nitride (GaN) FETs. The board operates from a 9V to 36V input range, producing a 48V output at up to 30A with an optional heatsink. It features an internally optimized bootstrap switch, adaptive dead-time control, and split gate drivers for GaN FET integration. The design is set to a 500kHz switching frequency but is programmable up to 3MHz and includes spread spectrum frequency modulation (SSFM) for improved EMI performance. Achieving peak efficiencies near 99%, the board is suitable for high-power density applications in industrial and telecommunications sectors.
